Decking Installations

Create usable levels and outdoor living space

At ADC Landscape and Garden Maintenance Contractors, we design and install high-quality wooden and composite decking to make the most of your garden.

From a simple raised platform outside the back door to large multi-level decks with steps, seating and lighting, we build outdoor spaces that are practical, safe and great to spend time on.

We work with both traditional timber decking and low-maintenance composite decking, and we’ll help you choose the right option for your home and budget.

Where decking works best

Decking is ideal wherever you want a clean, level surface or to deal with awkward changes in level.

We’ll design the size, shape and steps so the decking feels like a natural extension of your home.

  • Seating and dining areas outside patio or bi-fold doors
  • Raised decks outside garden buildings and home offices
  • Platforms over sloping or uneven ground
  • Walkways between doors, sheds and garden rooms
  • Hot tub and spa surrounds
  • Areas where grass struggles to grow or constantly gets muddy

Our decking installation process

Every deck we install is built on a strong, well-thought-out structure.

1
Site visit & design
We measure up, look at levels and access, and discuss how you want to use the space.
2
Groundworks & preparation
Clearing vegetation, old patios or previous decking, levelling and setting out the area and installing weed membrane and appropriate supports
3
Subframe construction
Pressure-treated timber or suitable framing system, supports, posts and joists set out for strength and correct falls and fixings chosen to suit the environment and material
4
Decking installation
Boards laid with consistent spacing and neat cuts, hidden fixings where appropriate for a cleaner look and edges, facias and step treads finished carefully
5
Finishing & tidy-up
Handrails, balustrades and accessories fitted, area cleaned and any waste removed and advice given on ongoing care and maintenance

Timber (wooden) decking

Natural, warm and cost-effective

Timber decking offers a classic, natural look that blends beautifully with planting and lawns:

  • Warm appearance – real wood that weathers and softens over time
  • Flexible to work with – ideal for custom shapes, steps and built-in seating
  • Cost-effective compared to some alternatives

We use pressure-treated timber suitable for outdoor use and can discuss options for:

  • Grooved or smooth boards
  • Stains, oils and paints to suit your style
  • Ongoing maintenance to keep it looking its best

Timber decking is a great choice if you like a more traditional, natural feel and don’t mind occasional cleaning and treating.

Composite decking

Modern, low-maintenance and long-lasting

Composite decking is made from a blend of materials designed to give a smart look with less maintenance than traditional timber:

  • Low maintenance – no need for regular staining or painting
  • Fade and stain resistant (when installed and cared for correctly)
  • Choice of colours and finishes – from modern greys to wood-effect tones
  • Straight, consistent boards for a clean, contemporary finish

Composite decking works especially well for:

  • Modern homes and garden buildings
  • Busy family gardens where low maintenance is a priority
  • Spaces where you want a sleek, high-end appearance

We can show you sample boards so you can see the colour and texture before you decide.

Good decking is about more than just boards.

Everything is built with safety, usability and longevity in mind.
